COMLEX-USA is the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Exam for the United States of America. This series of examinations is administered by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, NBOME. There are four elements to complete series: Level 1, Level 2 CE (Clinical Evaluation), Level 2 PE (Performance Evaluation), and Level 3. COMLEX Levels 1, 2 CE, 3 are all computer based testing modules.COMLEX Level 2 PE consists of multiple clinical exams, with standardized patients, in a controlled setting for a complete simulated practice. 
Successful completion of Levels 1 and Level 2 is required for graduation from an accredited school or college of osteopathic medicine. Level 3 is typically taken during the intership year or the first year of residency. Successful completion of the entire COMLEX series is necessary for licensure. COMVEX-USA is the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Variable-Purpose Licensing Exam for the United States of America. This exam is offered to practicing osteopathic physicians to demonstrate current osteopathic medical knowledge. COMVEX builds on the constructs and foundations of the COMLEX series, completely assessing breadth and depth of osteopathic medical practice. |
